Morning - Watamu Marine National Park

Morning - Arabuko Sokoke Forest

The Arabuko Sokoke Forest is the largest remaining coastal forest in East Africa and one of Kenya's most significant conservation areas. Over 400 square kilometres of mixed forest types shelter species found nowhere else on earth, including the Sokoke scops owl, the Clarke's weaver, the Amani sunbird, and the golden-rumped elephant shrew, a creature so singular it belongs to a mammal order with no close living relatives.

Your morning walk is guided by a Kenya Wildlife Service ranger with genuine expertise in the forest ecosystem. The light comes through the canopy in shafts. The undergrowth moves with small animals that are easier to hear than see. The silence between bird calls is its own thing. Late Morning - Gedi Ruins
