Morning - Arrival & Check-In

Afternoon - Fort Jesus and Old Town Mombasa

Built in 1593 by the Portuguese and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Fort Jesus is the anchor of any serious Mombasa tour. Its coral stone walls have absorbed five centuries of conflict, trade, and cultural exchange. Omani Arabs, the British, the Swahili coast's own complex layered identity. Your guide brings the history alive without turning it into a lecture.

From the fort, the tour moves into Old Town proper. Carved Swahili doorways. Old mosques with their afternoon call to prayer drifting over narrow lanes. Evening - Sunset Dhow Cruise

As the light changes over the harbour, your group boards a traditional wooden dhow for a sunset cruise along the Mombasa waterfront. The old trade routes that once carried ivory, spices, and gold between Arabia and East Africa ran through these same waters. Tonight the dhow carries you, a cool drink, and a view of the coastline turning gold. Dinner follows back at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, where the kitchen does full justice to the Swahili coast's exceptional seafood.

Morning - Mombasa Marine National Park

Day two starts on the water. Mombasa Marine National Park was established in 1968, making it one of Kenya's oldest conservation areas. Its coral reefs sit in warm, clear water and support an extraordinary range of marine life. Your group boards a glass-bottomed boat for a reef overview, then enters the ocean for a guided snorkelling session.

Sea turtles move slowly through the coral. Parrotfish dart between brain coral heads. Angelfish hold position in the current and then vanish. For first-time snorkellers, it is genuinely revelatory. For experienced ones, the Mombasa reef consistently delivers. Equipment is provided, and your guide is in the water with you throughout.

Late Morning - Haller Park Nature Walk

Haller Park is one of Mombasa's best-kept secrets and a highlight of any 3 days Mombasa tour package worth taking seriously. What was once a bare limestone quarry is now a thriving ecosystem of forest, wetland, and open savannah, home to Rothschild giraffes, hippos, vervet monkeys, waterbuck, crocodiles, and an impressive number of bird species.

The walk is unhurried. You will hand-feed giraffes, watch the hippos cool in their pond, and move through forested paths that feel genuinely wild despite being a short drive from the city centre. It is the kind of place that surprises people, and that is part of why we include it.

Afternoon - Mamba Village

A short transfer brings you to Mamba Village, Kenya's largest crocodile farm and one of Mombasa's most distinctive attractions. The crocodile enclosures house hundreds of Nile crocodiles at various stages of life, from hatchlings to full-grown adults of considerable size. The guides here know their animals and are unsettlingly comfortable around them.

Beyond the crocodiles, Mamba Village offers camel rides along the creek, a botanical garden, and a fish pond. It is lively, slightly unusual, and very Mombasa. Children particularly enjoy it. Adults are usually more surprised than they expected to be.

Evening - Beach Dinner at Jumeirah

The second evening is yours. Jumeirah Beach Hotel Mombasa sits directly on the beach, and dinner by the ocean with the sound of the Indian Ocean behind you is not something that needs a great deal of structuring. Eat well. Sleep well. Tomorrow is the beach.

Morning - Leisure at the Beach

Day three is unhurried by design. After breakfast at Jumeirah, you check out and transfer to Mombasa Continental Resort, a beachfront property with its own stretch of Indian Ocean coastline and a distinct, relaxed character. Check in, drop your bags, and claim a spot on the beach.

This morning belongs entirely to the coast. Swimming in warm, calm water. A long walk along the tideline. A sun lounger and a cold drink and nothing else required. Afternoon - Swahili Market and City Centre (Optional)

For travellers with energy before their departure, Mombasa's city centre markets offer a final, worthwhile stop. Biashara Street is the fabric and textile heart of the city, stacked with kikois, kangas, and Swahili crafts in colours that photograph beautifully. Marikiti Market handles the fresh produce and spices. Your guide knows both well, including where the honest prices are.

Late Afternoon - Farewell Lunch and Transfer

The itinerary closes with a farewell lunch at Mombasa Continental Resort, then a transfer to the airport or SGR station. Three days on the Kenyan coast. Two distinct hotels.
