Your Kent Corporate Travels driver-guide will collect you from your beach hotel at 7:30 am, or earlier if you prefer an earlier start. From the coast, the drive to Tsavo East takes approximately two and a half hours, passing through the coastal hinterland and open farmland before the terrain begins to shift into the dry, red-soiled landscapes that define this part of Kenya.
You enter the park through Bachuma Gate and immediately begin your first game drive. Tsavo East is one of the largest national parks in the world, and its open plains make for excellent game viewing year-round. Elephant herds are a near-constant presence here, many of them tinted a deep rusty red from dusting in the volcanic soil. Giraffe, buffalo, zebra, and hippo are all regularly seen, while lion and cheetah sightings reward those who spend time watching the grassland edges carefully. After a game-drive lunch break, the afternoon continues in the field before you settle in for the evening at Voi Wildlife Lodge on a full-board basis.
Accommodation: Voi Wildlife Lodge (Mid-Range Lodge, bordering Tsavo East NP)
Meals: Lunch and Dinner included. Drinking water provided.
An early morning game drive in Tsavo East makes the most of the cooler hours before breakfast. The drive between the two parks is itself a game drive, with wildlife moving freely across the boundary and the landscape shifting noticeably as you travel west. You will arrive at your Tsavo West accommodation in time for lunch.
Tsavo West National Park covers approximately 11,000 square kilometres of some of the most geologically dramatic terrain in East Africa. The park's centrepiece is Mzima Springs, where an estimated 50 million gallons of water per day surge up through porous lava rock filtered from the Chyulu Hills, creating a lush, wildlife-rich oasis in the middle of arid savannah. Resident hippo pods and Nile crocodiles inhabit the springs, and an underwater viewing chamber allows you to observe hippos moving beneath the surface.
Beyond Mzima, the afternoon takes you across the Shetani lava flows, a vast field of black solidified lava left by a volcanic eruption just 200 years ago, and up to Poacher's Lookout, where panoramic views stretch across the plains below. The park also holds the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, a 70-square-kilometre fenced reserve protecting around 80 critically endangered black rhinos. Dinner and overnight at Man Eaters Lodge.
Accommodation: Man Eaters Lodge (Mid-Range Tented Camp, bordering Tsavo West NP)
Meals: All meals included. Drinking water provided.
One of the rewards of staying inside the park is the pre-breakfast game drive, which gets you out into the wilderness before the day heats up and well before any day visitors arrive. The early morning light is exceptional for wildlife photography, and predators are often still active at this hour. After one final sweep through the reserve, you return to the lodge for a full breakfast before checking out.
The return journey to the coast includes a lunch stop at a convenient roadside hotel, and you will be back at your Mombasa hotel or at the airport by mid to late afternoon. Your Kent Corporate Travels representative will confirm the drop-off point based on your onward plans. Three days, two national parks, and a safari experience that begins and ends right on the Kenyan coast. If you would like to extend the tour, additional days can be arranged to suit your schedule.
Accommodation: None, end of tour. Additional nights available on request.
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch included. Drinking water provided.
